Envisioning the future of industry with future of technologies: Digital sales and marketing
Emerging technologies gives organizations tremendous power to envision new possibilities and creatively work out differentiators for customer experience and operational innovations.
As recommended by a great innovation coach, I took a cut at sketching the future of each industry hoping to better activate my creative brain. Dusted my now rusting drawing skills to envision digital possibilities in new business model scenarios e.g. a food CPG business across the value chain. I felt this helped envision the future of industry scenarios, maybe visualize a bit better that a long BRD (business requirement) document would.
Illustrated above are some of the possible beginner scenarios (we are yet to see in the Indian market) for sales and marketing innovations towards enabling food as a service – any time anywhere enabled through intelligent live BIG DATA . The possibilities are immense and not limited to these scenarios. We will also discuss how digital could influence other components of the value chain in upcoming articles
- A mother and child shopping, guided selling though gamification, Pokémon-go pit stop leading to a retail smart shelf, tab based augmented reality commerce enabling product details , promotions, offers etc. visualized ( New technologies – Augmented reality , gamifications , digital payments, NFC , QR , social media, advanced analytics )

- Home alone kids ordering food from their smart TV’s, approved through integrated mobile ordering systems by remotely located parents at work, engaging with the young customers with options and recommendations, ensuring safe delivery of orders in smart drop boxes with auto intimation to the residents ( New technologies – Smart TV’s, Smart homes, digital commerce and mobile payments, social analytics and engagement, Internet of things )
- Personalized food and drinks at apartment complexes based on individual health recommendations and preferences for a digital empowered customer ( New technologies – Smart vending machines, social media integration, big data analytics and recommendations, contactless payments )
- Assisted sales call centre coordinating integrated optimized delivery and inventory management with delivery partners including grocery ecommerce players and last mile hyper local delivery partners for all the above scenarios in real time coordination ( New technologies – Sales workbench and control towers, roboadvisor, cloud, RFID, GPS, advanced analytics, optimiser and recommendation engines )
